Portugal Wedding Photographer | Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Rocha

Emily & Katie tied the knot in Ferragudo, Portugal in May 2019. It was simply stunning, blue skies beaming hot sunshine, Emily and Katie’s closest friends and family – it was beautiful!

Getting ready

Emily and Katie both got ready with their bridesmaids. I began by capturing some natural moments between Katie and her bridesmaids in One2Seven, which overlooks the a little port city, Portimão. The florist had just arrived to deliver a beautiful colourful bouquet of flowers. After capturing some candid photographs of the details and of Katie, her mum and bridesmaids I traveled to Suites Alba Resort & Spa, where Emily was having her hair and makeup finished. Everyone was very excited for the ceremony.

The ceremony

The ceremony was something from mamma mia. On the cliffs of Alporchinhos there’s a chapel – Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Rocha. White chairs and the alter where decorated by the florist, ready for Emily & Katies cliff-top wedding. From where you stood, you could the coastline stretching for miles, golden sand and beautiful blue skies for miles. A guitarist played beautiful covers of some of E&K’s favourites hits throughout the years, followed by relaxed readings from their closest family and friends.

After Emily & Katie tied the knot, they invited everyone to join them for canpe’s and welcome drinks while taking in the stunning views.

The reception

For the reception, everyone travelled along the coast to a beach club – Club Nau. A lovely location for a wedding reception. A bar served refreshing Portuguese drinks during everyone arrival.

Just before everyone sat down for the evening meal, we organised the wedding party for a one large group photograph. The food followed shortly and I have to say was some of the nicest food I’ve ever tasted – scallops for starter and filet mignon for the main, delicious. Speeches followed after the main course. Some lovely stories from family & friends about Emily & Katie’s journey through life the the big day.

The evening

The sunset was breathtaking, I took Katie and Emily along the coast to an old castle for some intimate portraits. We spotted some caves near the bay to take some candid photographs together. On our prompt return. Music began to play and the evening party began. Fire performers provided entertainment while everyone enjoyed espresso martini’s, and boogied late into the night.
