Jess and James’ military wedding at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham was a brilliant day to photograph from start to finish. Both of them chose to get ready at the venue, which made the morning relaxed and unhurried, with everything taking place in one beautiful Cotswolds location. Manor by the Lake is ideal for this — elegant rooms, peaceful surroundings, and plenty of natural light for candid getting-ready photos.
The ceremony itself was made even more memorable with a traditional sabre arch, forming a striking moment as Jess and James exited to cheers from their guests. It’s always a privilege to photograph military weddings, and this one had such a warm, celebratory atmosphere throughout.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a lovely reception at the manor while we took advantage of the grounds for relaxed couple portraits. The gardens and architecture around Manor by the Lake offer a fantastic variety of backdrops, all within a short walk, which is perfect for natural, candid wedding photography. It was a real pleasure capturing Jess and James’ wedding day at one of the most beautiful venues in the Cotswolds.
