Bristol Wedding Photography

I was born in Bristol and have lived here almost all my life, mostly on the rural outskirts. Visiting the city centre always felt like a special trip out when I was younger. I remember walking around the harbourside and visiting the SS Great Britain with my grandparents.

As I grew up, I explored more of Bristol — places like Stokes Croft and Easton — as a photography student, using the graffiti-filled streets to try out new cameras and techniques, most memorably the “Brenizer Method” to mimic the look of a medium format camera.

When I turned 18, I secured a job as a nightclub photographer at Pryzm, SWX and various pubs and bars up Park Street. I quickly became very familiar with the city centre at a completely different hour of the day.

Times have changed, though — I no longer take part in Bristol’s nightlife scene. You’re much more likely to find me grabbing a bacon bap from Wilson's Breadshop in Redland or a local coffee shop.

A few years later, I transitioned into photographing weddings — and I loved it. I photographed my first solo wedding at Walton Castle, and since then I’ve captured weddings across Bristol, throughout Somerset and even across the globe.

I’ve now been photographing weddings for over 10 years, and I still feel incredibly lucky to meet such fun couples and be invited to capture such meaningful days.

As a Bristol wedding photographer, there’s something special about working in a city that’s been part of your life for so long.

A few favourite Bristol wedding venues

I recently photographed a wedding at Alma Tavern & Theatre in Clifton — a beautiful venue full of character. With exclusive hire of the pub, it offered the perfect laid-back, relaxed yet fun atmosphere. It suited the couple down to the ground.

Another personal favourite is Arnos Vale. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing several weddings there over the years. With multiple ceremony options and stunning surroundings, it’s perfect for couples looking for something relaxed, creative and a little bit different.

The Orangery at Goldney House Wedding Photography

The Orangery at Goldney House (University of Bristol) is another favourite of mine. Nestled in the heart of Clifton, with the option to have your ceremony lined by trees, it’s such a picturesque venue — perfect for relaxed, formal or informal celebrations.

The photos below are from Lauren and Sam’s wedding, where they had their entire day at the Orangery surrounded by their closest friends and family. The sun was out all day, making it perfect for an outdoor ceremony followed by drinks, canapés and garden games.

Jacob was great and we would definitely recommend! He photographed our wedding in Bristol. We loved the photos and felt he really captured the vibe and feeling of the day. We liked his candid photography style. He is super friendly, organised and had very good communication.

My approach to photographing weddings in Bristol

My approach is all about keeping things relaxed and natural.

I love documenting the energy of your day — capturing genuine emotion as it unfolds, focusing on real moments and honest connections.

My natural, reportage style is perfect for couples planning a relaxed, informal wedding where the focus is on spending time with friends and family rather than sticking rigidly to tradition.

I want you to feel comfortable, present and completely yourself — so you can actually enjoy your wedding day.
