As a DoubleTree by Hilton Cadbury House wedding photographer, it’s always great to capture weddings at this popular Somerset venue. Set in Congresbury with views across the surrounding countryside, it offers a mix of modern spaces, beautiful grounds and plenty of great locations for relaxed wedding photography. Debbie and Chris’s wedding was a beautiful day from start to finish.


Bridal & Groom Preparations at Cadbury House


Debbie and Chris are old friends of mine, so it was a real pleasure to be there to capture their wedding.


Debbie got ready in one of the suites, while Chris was just a few floors away in the honeymoon suite with his groomspeople. Having both preparations in the same venue always helps the morning flow smoothly, and it allows me to move between them to capture a mix of relaxed, natural moments.


Once Debbie was ready, we stepped out onto the balcony for some photographs, making the most of the views across the Somerset countryside.


After a very wet few weeks leading up to the wedding, they couldn’t have asked for better weather — it was sunny all day long.



Ceremony at DoubleTree by Hilton Cadbury House


The ceremony took place at the venue, surrounded by their closest friends and family. It was a really warm and personal ceremony, with a great atmosphere from the start.


Cadbury House works really well for ceremonies like this, keeping everything in one place and allowing the day to flow naturally from one part to the next.



Drinks Reception & Couple Portraits


After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapés while spending time together outside.


During this time, I captured a mix of candid moments alongside a short couple portrait session around the grounds. One of my favourite spots at Cadbury House is under the palm trees — it always makes for a slightly different backdrop and works beautifully in the sunshine.


Keeping portraits short and relaxed meant Debbie and Chris could quickly get back to enjoying time with their friends and family.



Evening Party & Celebrations


As the day moved into the evening, the celebrations continued inside with music from both a pianist and a DJ.


The dance floor stayed busy all night, with plenty of singing and dancing as everyone made the most of the celebration. It was one of those weddings where the energy carried right through into the early hours.
