I recently had the pleasure of photographing Sam & Dan’s beautiful, colourful, and incredibly fun wedding at the Folly Farm Centre. As good family friends, I was truly honoured when they invited me to capture their day. Around six months before the wedding, we met at Folly Farm for a walk around the venue and a catch-up — it’s an amazing location with endless spots for portraits, candid moments, and stunning countryside views.


I started the morning photographing Sam’s bridesmaids getting ready. They brought a calm but fun energy to the prep, and just as Sam was ready, her maid of honour handed her a brilliant Taskmaster-style invitation: “Marry your best friend. Your time starts now.”


Meanwhile, Dan and his groomsmen enjoyed a beer as they got ready for the day ahead. The venue looked beautiful in the sunshine, and although we had one quick rain shower after the ceremony, it cleared almost immediately — leaving us with a dry and relaxed afternoon.


The reception was full of gorgeous details: vibrant décor, colourful florals, a lovely wedding cake, and gin bottles filled with blooms. After speeches, the wedding crackers added a fun touch and brought everyone together before the wedding breakfast.


Brass12 Brass Band absolutely brought the party — an incredible riot-jazz, brass covers band that had everyone dancing and celebrating late into the night.

In the evening, Ed from Soul Dough arrived in his wood-fired-pizza Land Rover Defender 110 to serve fresh, hand-stretched pizza, which went down perfectly with the guests.


Sam & Dan, thank you so much for inviting me to capture your wedding. It was such a joy to photograph a Folly Farm Centre wedding, and I can’t wait to be back there again soon.
