As a Manorial Barn wedding photographer, it’s always a pleasure to capture weddings at such a unique and historic venue. This beautiful 13th-century thatched barn in South Yorkshire offers a perfect setting for couples looking for a relaxed wedding with plenty of character.
Wendy and Nick’s wedding was a brilliant example of that, a day full of personality, great moments and a lively celebration from start to finish.

Groom Preparations in Sheffield
The day began in Sheffield, where I met Nick and his groomsmen for some relaxed, behind-the-scenes preparation.
Nick was getting ready with his best man, with a great atmosphere as everyone waited for the transport to arrive — a bright orange Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, which definitely made an impression and added a fun, personal touch to the day.

Meanwhile, Wendy was getting ready nearby with her bridesmaids and flower girls.
The morning was full of laughter, with plenty of stories being shared as hair and makeup were underway. These moments are always great to capture naturally, helping to tell the full story of the day from the very beginning.

Ceremony & Reception at The Manorial Barn
The ceremony and reception both took place at The Manorial Barn, allowing the day to flow seamlessly from one part to the next.
Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Wendy and Nick exchanged vows in a beautiful civil ceremony inside the barn. The historic setting, combined with the warm atmosphere, made it a great space for natural, documentary-style photography.
After the ceremony, we headed outside for a confetti tunnel before working through a short and relaxed set of family photographs.
I always aim to keep this part of the day quick and easy, so couples can get back to enjoying time with their guests while I capture more candid moments during the drinks reception.

Evening Celebrations
As the evening began, the DJ got the party started with a playlist of everyone’s favourite songs.
The dance floor quickly filled, with plenty of singing, dancing and great energy carrying through into the night. It was a brilliant way to end a relaxed and fun wedding day.
