Mud Dock Wedding Photographer - Kate & Will

As a Mud Dock wedding photographer, it’s always great to capture weddings in the heart of Bristol. Overlooking the harbour, Mud Dock is perfect for couples planning a relaxed, city-centre wedding with incredible food, great atmosphere and a unique waterfront setting.

Kate and Will’s wedding was a brilliant example of how well a Mud Dock reception works alongside a ceremony elsewhere in Bristol.

Bridal Preparations in Bristol

The day began at Kate’s home in Bristol. It was a calm and relaxed morning as Kate got ready with her bridesmaids, with plenty of natural moments unfolding as the excitement built.

I spent some time capturing details of the dress, as well as those quieter moments with her bridesmaids before heading off to Arnos Vale to photograph guests arriving.

Arnos Vale Ceremony

Guests gathered at Arnos Vale Cemetery, one of Bristol’s most unique and characterful ceremony venues. Kate and Will's wedding car was a Lotus Elise — with family writing “Just Married” on the back in lipstick.

The ceremony took place in the Spielman Room, a beautiful, light-filled space that works perfectly for intimate weddings. Afterwards, we headed out onto the grand steps for group photographs, making the most of the sunshine.

We then took a short walk through the grounds for some relaxed couple portraits. Arnos Vale offers such a variety of backdrops, and it’s always a great place for natural, documentary-style photographs without needing to go far.

Mud Dock Wedding Reception in Bristol

After the ceremony, everyone made their way into central Bristol for the reception at Mud Dock.

Set right on the harbourside, Mud Dock has a completely different feel — lively, social and full of energy. It’s an ideal venue for couples who want less of a formal setting and more of a relaxed celebration with great food and a buzzing atmosphere.

Kate and Will’s guests gathered for drinks overlooking the water before heading in for the wedding breakfast and speeches. It was so nice to see all of their closest friends and family together in such an intimate space.

Evening Celebrations by the Harbourside

As the evening went on, the space filled with laughter, music and dancing. Mud Dock really comes into its own at this point in the day — it feels more like a great evening out in Bristol than a traditional wedding venue, which is exactly why so many couples love it.

Kate and Will’s wedding had such a natural flow to it, from a relaxed morning in Bristol, to a beautiful ceremony at Arnos Vale, and finishing with a brilliant evening celebration by the water.
