Nailsea Tithe Barn Wedding Photographer

As a Nailsea Tithe Barn wedding photographer, it’s always special to work at a venue so close to home. Nailsea Tithe Barn is a beautiful restored medieval barn in North Somerset, full of character and perfect for weddings, engagement parties and family celebrations.

Having grown up in Nailsea, I’ve always been familiar with the Tithe Barn, so it was a real honour when Sannah and Safeer asked me to photograph their engagement party here.

Safeer first reached out to me on Instagram after seeing my previous work and realising I was a local photographer. He loved the relaxed, candid feel of my photographs and enquired about capturing their engagement celebration.

Sannah, along with her friends and family, did an incredible job decorating the barn. Sage green table runners, flowers, biscuits and candles lined the long tables — simple, elegant touches that worked beautifully with the rustic wooden beams of the barn.

Relaxed Couple Photos Inside the Barn

On the evening of the engagement party, Sannah and Safeer decided they’d like a few couple photographs before their guests arrived. It gave us a lovely opportunity to capture the final touches being added to the space and to make the most of the barn’s character.

As it was December, we stayed inside to keep warm and used the natural textures of the barn as our backdrop. The soft winter light combined with the warm interior tones created a really cosy atmosphere for their portraits.

Candid Photography & Evening Celebrations

As guests began to arrive, Sannah and Safeer were keen for the majority of the photographs to be candid and natural rather than overly posed, which suited my approach perfectly. I focused on genuine interactions, hugs, laughter and those in-between moments that tell the real story of the evening.

They had also set up a backdrop with stage lighting for family and friends’ portraits. Using a simple two-light flash setup allowed me to create soft, even lighting while keeping everything looking natural and flattering.

Later in the evening, Sannah and Safeer kindly invited me to dine with them. There was an incredible selection of Indian cuisine — the lamb biryani was a personal favourite.
