Rachael & Gareth – Relaxed Wedding at The Corn Barn, Cullompton


As a Corn Barn wedding photographer, I always love returning to this beautiful Devon venue. The Corn Barn is a stunning rustic barn wedding venue in Cullompton, lovingly restored by Ian and Yta. They’ve transformed traditional farm barns into a warm, characterful space that feels relaxed, intimate and welcoming — perfect for couples planning a laid-back celebration.


The weddings I photograph at The Corn Barn in Cullompton are often relaxed, rustic and homely, which suits my natural, documentary-style wedding photography perfectly.


A Relaxed Evening Wedding Party at The Corn Barn, Cullompton


Rachael and Gareth got in touch after seeing some of my previous wedding photography at The Corn Barn in Devon. They were planning a low-key, relaxed evening celebration (without a ceremony) and were looking for a photographer who could capture natural, candid moments, a few relaxed couple portraits, informal group photographs and the evening party atmosphere.


I was delighted to be considered and provided four hours of bespoke evening wedding photography coverage tailored to their plans.


Natural Couple Photos Around The Corn Barn, Farm & Orchard


On the day of the party, I arrived early to photograph the beautiful DIY décor that Rachael, Gareth and their families had been organising throughout the afternoon. Final touches were being added to the ‘cheese cake’, and personalised love hearts were laid out on the tables.


Before guests arrived, we took a gentle wander around the farm and orchard for some relaxed couple photographs. My approach to posing is always movement-based and easy-going — walking, chatting, a few fun spins — nothing stiff or overly structured. Rachael and Gareth wanted their photos to feel natural and effortless, and that’s exactly what we created.


We even managed to dodge a few rain showers before heading back into the barn to greet their guests.


Evening Party Atmosphere at The Corn Barn


The evening celebration was full of energy and personality. Vintage Camper Booths arrived with their beautifully converted cream VW Transporter photo booth — always a fantastic talking point and source of entertainment for guests. Vintage Camper Booths brought so much fun to the evening.


Guests enjoyed a buffet alongside incredible woodfired pizza from Exe Valley Pizza Co, before dancing late into the night with the DJ.


The Corn Barn works so well for relaxed evening wedding parties — the rustic barn interior creates a cosy atmosphere while still allowing plenty of space for dancing, socialising and candid moments.
