As a Berwick Lodge wedding photographer, it’s always a pleasure to photograph at one of Bristol’s most elegant boutique wedding venues. Berwick Lodge sits just outside the city, surrounded by beautiful gardens and historic architecture, offering the perfect setting for relaxed and natural wedding photography.

Hannah and Alex chose Berwick Lodge for their celebration with family and friends, and it made the perfect backdrop for their day — combining the charm of a country house with the convenience of a Bristol wedding venue.

Bridal Preparations at Berwick Lodge

The day began in the bridal suite at Berwick Lodge, where Hannah and her bridesmaids were finishing the final touches to their hair and makeup. The atmosphere was calm and full of excitement as the morning unfolded.

Once everyone was nearly ready, I briefly popped over to see Alex and his groomsmen, who were staying nearby. We captured a few relaxed photographs on the balcony overlooking the beautiful 1890s country gardens before guests began arriving.

Ceremony at Berwick Lodge

The ceremony took place in one of Berwick Lodge’s elegant indoor spaces overlooking the grounds. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Hannah and Alex exchanged vows in a heartfelt and intimate ceremony.

Afterwards, we headed outside where the wedding coordinator and I organised a confetti tunnel for the newlyweds — always one of my favourite moments to photograph as everyone celebrates together.

Guests then enjoyed drinks and canapés on the lawn while I captured plenty of natural, candid moments, then gathered everyone for a few relaxed group photographs.

Couple Portraits in the Berwick Lodge Gardens

Berwick Lodge is a fantastic venue for couple portraits, with its historic building, landscaped gardens and elegant outdoor spaces.

Shortly after the drinks reception, Hannah, Alex and I took a short walk around the grounds for some relaxed portraits together. We kept things quick and easy so they could get back to enjoying time with their guests, while still capturing some beautiful photographs together.

Singing Waiters & Evening Entertainment

One of the highlights of the wedding breakfast was the surprise appearance of the singing waiters, which brought plenty of laughter and energy to the room.

After dinner, guests were entertained outside with a selection of inflatable games and hobby horses from Kieran Clarke Entertainment — something a little different that kept everyone laughing and enjoying the evening.

As the evening celebrations began, Kieran Clarke Entertainment took over as DJ, filling the dance floor as guests showed off some impressive dance moves. I stayed for the first part of the party to capture the start of the dancing before leaving everyone to enjoy the rest of the night.
