As a Coombe Lodge wedding photographer, it’s always a pleasure to capture weddings at this beautiful countryside venue in Blagdon. With its elegant house, courtyard gardens and views across the surrounding landscape, Coombe Lodge is perfect for couples planning a relaxed summer wedding.


Ella and Will’s August wedding was a brilliant example of everything the venue has to offer.



Bridal & Groom Preparations at Coombe Lodge


I arrived in the morning to capture both Ella and Will getting ready on site with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. Having everything in one place always helps the day feel relaxed, and it meant I could move easily between both preparations to document those natural moments as the morning unfolded.


There was a great atmosphere throughout, calm, excited and full of anticipation for the day ahead.



Outdoor Ceremony in the Courtyard Gardens


The ceremony took place outside in the courtyard gardens, which looked incredible in the summer sunshine. Outdoor ceremonies at Coombe Lodge always have such a lovely feel to them, and this one was no different.


Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Ella and Will exchanged vows in a setting that felt both intimate and open, making the most of the warm August weather.



Drinks Reception & Garden Photography


After the ceremony, we headed up to the raised patio for group photographs before taking a short walk around the grounds for some couple portraits.


I always keep this part of the day relaxed and natural, giving couples a bit of time together while capturing genuine moments rather than anything too posed.


The drinks reception then continued in the gardens, where guests enjoyed canapés and drinks in the sunshine. This is always one of my favourite parts of the day to photograph, lots of candid moments, conversations and a really social atmosphere.



Evening Reception & Ceilidh Dancing


As the day moved into the evening, celebrations continued inside Coombe Lodge with the wedding breakfast and speeches.


Later on, the energy shifted as the ceilidh band kicked things off. The dance floor quickly filled, and it was one of those evenings where everyone got involved, creating a brilliant atmosphere and some great, lively moments to capture.
