Woodford Farm, Somerset

Lydia and Ben married at Woodford Farm in Wells, Somerset — and it was such a beautiful day to capture. I’d actually met them about a year earlier for their engagement session around the streets of Bath, joined by their incredibly cute Beagle, Fred.

Fred also had an important role on the wedding day — the dog ring bearer!

Bridal prep began at Lydia’s parents’ lovely farmhouse, where her bridesmaids brought all the energy — singing, dancing, and celebrating as they had their hair and makeup done. Lydia’s dad was busy outside, putting the finishing touches on his beloved Ford Capri Laser, which was to be the wedding car.

We all travelled over to Woodford Farm, just outside Wells, for the ceremony. The wonderful Debbie (@celebrantspain) led a beautiful, personal ceremony where Lydia and Ben exchanged their own vows and listened to heartfelt readings from friends and family.

Then the party truly began — and this was one of the most fun, creative weddings I’ve ever photographed. It had serious mini-Glastonbury vibes! There was wood-fired pizza from Wood Chop Pizza, miniature Shetland pony walking, live music by friends and family, outdoor games like hook-a-duck, bean bag toss, and giant Jenga — the perfect mix of festival fun and Somerset countryside charm.

After speeches back at the hay-bale altar, Lydia and Ben cut their cake, followed by delicious white crêpes served from a vintage Citroën HY van, and chicken wraps from LJ Hugs.

While guests tucked into food, I took Lydia and Ben off through the cornfields and under the willow tree for some relaxed couple portraits — the perfect spot on Woodford Farm’s stunning grounds.

The evening carried on with a packed dance floor, incredible energy, and everyone celebrating late into the night.

Congratulations again, Lydia and Ben — and thank you for inviting me to capture such a brilliant day. One of my favourite festival-style weddings to date!
